Abstract
Sixteen days old etiolated bean leaves were treated with AET and cystamine. The influence of the concentration and of the time of action of these compounds on chlorophyll accumulation after 24 hr under continuous light has been investigated. Electron microscopic examinations of the slides of treated primary leaves have shown that there is no effect of AET or cystamine either on the ultrastructure of plasts or on their evolution during the greening process. A lack of radioprotection of chlorophyll accumulation, in irradiated leaves, is observed and the results are discussed.
