Abstract

A report is presented of an extensive examination of the extent of air pollution in the region of Tessenderlo (Belgium) during the period 1974 to 1975. This region is characterized by the presence of 3 important chemical industries, including a vinyl industry. On the basis of a first preliminary examination, SO2, chloride, ethylene, vinyl chloride, 1,1 dichloroethane and 1,2 dichloroethane were selected as the pollutants to be measured. The method and results of the examination are described in detail.
