Abstract

This report presents an overview of the radiological impact calculations corresponding to the set of alternative evolution scenarios (AES), designed to cover the potentially disturbing events they represent in a comprehensive (envelope) way, for the Dessel near surface repository. This is the category of scenarios (and calculation cases) that covers uncertainties in the future evolution of the disposal system with a significant effect on radionuclide migration and/or release pathways, performance of SSC’s of the repository and/or dose impacts. AES aim to demonstrate that the radiological impact or risk remains acceptable under unexpected but plausible evolutions of the disposal system.
