Abstract
The theoretical expressions derived in the preceding paper are applied to stage III isochronal annealing data for cold‐worked niobium. Close agreement between the experimental data and the theory is obtained by using the model based on uncorrelated bimolecular recombination of defects. This confirms an earlier proposed mechanism for stage III recovery in b.c.c. metals, namely recombination of randomly migrating interstitials with immobile vacancies.
