Abstract
Annealing structures of grain boundaries in zirconium shows a predominance of coincidence grain boundaries. Their majority is characterized by low multiplicities and have often but not always the same geometry as deformation twins. A method is proposed for their characterization, its accuracy is illustrated by an unambiguous determination of few high multiplicity CSL's such as Σ = 31, 49, and 67.
