    Abstract

No procedure has been established yet by the Belgian authorities to ensure the quality of indoor radon measurements in the country. However, since the year 1994, four Belgian academic or research laboratories involoved in radon measurements have undertaken a series of intercomparison measurements. The four laboratories are attached to the university of Ghent (RUG), the institute for hygiene and epidemiology in Brussels (IHE), the study centre for nuclear energy in Mol (SCK•CEN) and the industrial higher institute in Brussels (ISIB). In 1996, the institute for radio-elements in Fleurus (IRE) joined the intercomparison.
