    Abstract

The Belgian Government designated the SCK•CEN to coordinate the works of the Belgian contribution to the Broader Approach for fusion (BA) in each of the 3 main programmes: • IFMIF/EVEDA: Belgium is contributing to the Test Facility, to the Accelerator Facility and to the Target Facility. • JT-60 SA: Belgium is contributing to the cold test of the Toroidal Field coils, by supplying the cryostat and attached accessories for carrying out these tests. • IFERC/DEMO: Belgium will contribute to the DEMO R&D project in the field of materials testing. IBA delivers the RF final power amplifiers for the IFMIF/EVEDA accelerator. ULB carries out the modelling of the Lithium flow constituting the target of the IFMIF facility. ALM carries out the delivery of the cryostat for the cold tests facility of the toroidal field coils of JT-60 SA, in collaboration with the company AMOS. Tractebel Engineering delivers an important contribution to the engineering design of IFMIF. The activities of SCK•CEN on the irradiation preparation and on the design of the LFTM and STUMM continued. The present report gives an overview of the main activities carried out during 2010 within the Belgian participation to the Broader Approach.
