N2 - In this paper, a new method is presented to calculate the so-called near-singular eigenvalues of the neutron transport operator. The neutron transport operator can have anisotropic scattering up to an arbitrary order. The near-singular eigenvalues are eigenvalues that are so close to the continuum interval [-1,+1] that they have to be represented as 1+delta where delta can be very small.
