This report presents in detail the results of the characterisation of Alkali-Silica gels. One non-radioactive surrogate gel and three active gels sampled from cemented radioactive waste packages were characterised by XRD, TGA-MS and NMR analyses. Furthermore, their weight and volumetric evolution due to water uptake and release at varying relative humidities has been assessed.
