Abstract
The occurrence of electrical signals at the surfaces of oscillating NaCl single crystals is shown to be connected with the breakaway of dislocations from weak pinning points. Assuming that these pinning points are positive ion vacancies, their binding energy for dislocations is found to be 0.36 eV, the charge on the dislocations is found to be positive between 80°K and 370°K.
