Abstract

A fast pneumatic transfer tube installed at the BR1-reactor is described. It has been used mainly for the study of isomeric nuclear states. The transfer time from the center of the reactor (thermal neutron flux 10¹² n/cm²) to a NaI(Tl) scintillation counter is about 0.1 s. States with decay times as short as 0.02 s can be studied.
