    Abstract

The Indoor Positioning System (IPS) presented in the D9.103 deliverable was successfully tested in simple workplaces within SCK•CEN and UPC, and in a catheterization laboratory (Cath-lab) of UZ Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), Liège University Hospital and Skåne University Hospital in Malmö. In these scenarios, the system showed to be reliable when tracking one person or even two people with few inter or self-occlusion. However, several limitations were identified that compromised its extension to a multi-user IPS, i.e. a system that would be able to correctly identify multiple individuals in the scene. In the present report, we present an IPS system based on multiple cameras that could potentially solve the limitations of the first IPS system.
