Abstract
The specific activity of a carrier free iodine solution cannot be deduced by a simple calculation, as such a solution always contains iodine coming from the reagents used and iodine formed at the same time as iodine-131 during the irradiation of natural tellurium. It is necessary to dispose of an analytical process applicable
to low iodine contents in presence of large quantities of thiosulfate ;
this process must also be simple on account of the high toxicity of iodin e-131.
