Abstract
The use of nuclear reactions induced by thermal neutrons for the determination of atomic masses is illustrated with some recent experimental results obtained at the Grenoble high flux reactor. Themasses of the unstable isotopes 153Gd and 235Th are determined via the 153Gd(nth, α)150Sm and the 238U(nth, α)235Th reactions. The 50V-50Ti mass-difference is determined via the 50V(nth, p)50Ti reaction.
