Abstract

The dislocation dissociation in the DO23 structure of Al3Zr is performed by contrast experiment in TEM, and confirmed by a precision analysis of low angle grain boundary characteristics. In particular, the precision determination of the angle of rotation at subgrain boundaries allows a determination of amplitudes of Burgers vectors. The type of dissociation is interpreted in terms of the characteristics of the ordered lattice.
