    Abstract

In the present work we have studied radiation effects on the volume holographic elements (Bragg gratings) written in photo-thermo-refractive glass. We have found that the radiation sensitivity of the VHE is slightly higher as compared to that of PTRG, from which it was fabricated. This difference can be attributed to the effect of grating development process. The most important practical conclusion is that after exposure to a dose of γ-radiation or proton radiation, which corresponds to several year of operation on a Geostationary Transfer Orbit, a negligible degradation of the performance characteristics is observed.
