Effect of soil parameters on uranium availability and uptake by ryegrass.

    Abstract

The present study explores the dominant soil factors ruling uranium mobility and availability to plants and intents to quantify the effect. In a first step, we explored the influence of soil physico-chemical properties on the uranium concentration in the soil solution, assumed to be the pool for root uptake. We further seeked to quantify the influence of soil parameters on uranium uptake by ryegrass.
