Abstract

Electron diffraction and high resolution electron microscopy revealed a new ordered phase in the platinum-vanadium system. It appears in the vicinity of the composition Pt₈V and has a body centered tetragonal unit cell with point group 4/m 2/m 2/m; the new phase is isostructural with the ordered Pt₈Ti structure.
