Abstract
Experimental evidence is presented for the existence of the so‐called AABB structure in substitutionally ordered alloys. This structure was predicted on theoretical grounds, but hitherto never observed. A combined use of selected area electron diffraction and dark‐field electron microscopy is required to distinguish the AABB phase from the structurally related DO22 phase.
