Abstract

A theoretical study is made of the Auger cascades which follow the capture of electrons by Co⁵⁷ nuclei, taking into account the Coster‐Kronig transition. The mean lifetime of trivalent Fe⁵⁷ ions located at Co sites in CoO is calculated using the experimental ratio of the concentrations of bivalent and trivalent Fe⁵⁷ ions.
