    Abstract

This chapter discusses a particular aspect of 'WASTEnomics' - that of turning long-term liabilities of low-level radioactive waste into an ethical framework that involves 'appropriate' forms of financing and compensation for host communities of such long-term waste. The chapter argues that the most important issue to take into account is the formation of a 'community' around the radwaste question.
