N2 - Despite the title of the deliverable this document is not a first draft joint roadmap, but it represents the first steps and current ideas to build a joint roadmap for radiation protection research. In this document a set of exposure scenarios is proposed to identify potential radiation protection needs when faced with man-made and natural sources of ionising radiation. Secondly, a first set of radiation protection research challenges is proposed. Both the exposure scenarios and the research challenges will serve as a basis to initiate discussions with the wider research community and other stakeholders. Stakeholder involvement along the course of the development of the joint roadmap is important, since the joint roadmap is meant to be a guide to plan research and develop radiation protection tools for the benefit of the society. A stakeholder involvement plan will be elaborated in 2018 to involve stakeholders in each step of the Joint Roadmap development.
