Abstract
The problem of flux depression in and around a thermal neutron detector is treated on the basis of the integral form of the stationary transport equation , which is approximately solved for symmetrical regions. For most detectors of interest, the results of this method are in good agreement with those obtained by solving the integral equation differently.
