    Abstract

This report documents performance assessment calculations carried out for two category B waste types: PAMELA waste, i.e. vitrified waste and hulls and end-pieces, resulting from the former reprocessing activities at Eurochemic and compacted structural and technological waste arising from the reprocessing at La Hague of spent nuclear fuels used for electricity generation. For both waste types, long-term radiological consequences in case of disposal in a hypothetical repository located in the Boom Clay formation are evaluated for the expected evolution scenario. The considered repository concept is based on the "Monolith category B" design. As the PAMELA glass is moderately heat generating, thermal calculations are also done for this waste type to evaluate whether the near field is subject to a thermal phase.
