Abstract
Tabby male mice (XTaY) were irradiated with 600 R of X-rays and mated in the post-sterile period to untreated C 3 H females (X+X+). The incidence of XO females after X-irradiation of the spermatogonia was not significantly different from the rate found in the control series. The phenotype of these exceptional females indicates that they are patroclinous XO females. Chromosome counts performed on bone-marrow show that most of the cells have 39 chromosomes as compared to 40 found in the controls.
