N2 - The present state-of-the-art report (SOTA) on gas transport through clayey materials has been written in the early stage of the project. Its structure is aligned with the work programme of the WP GAS. It aims to provide a general overview of the state of knowledge with respect to the main RD&D (research, development and demonstration) topics of the WP GAS, with sufficient context so that it can be use to a lay audience with limited technical background, early-stage programmes, RD&D managers and the teams involved in EURAD. This report is the result of a common understanding, shared by the organisations involved in the WP GAS of the current state of the art on gas transport in clayey materials. Building upon the identification of key uncertainties, this SOTA can be used as a baseline against which WP progress can be measured.
