Abstract
The instrument for β-ray radiochromatogram reading consists of a mechanical device to drive the chromatogram paper, a detection system with a proportional counter, an amplifier and a discriminator. The electronic equipment has been designed to permit a wide range of counting rates. The second part of this article deals with a theoretical study of the response of the whole system in the case of a detection rate changing with time according to a Gaussian law. In general this study can be applied to various fields: gas chromatography, sliding channel spectrometry, etc.
