    Abstract

This special issue is the result of the 2nd international workshop on Sensory Evaluation and Intellligent Techniques (July 11-13, 2005, Paris) under the 17th IMACS (International Association for Mathematics and Computers in Simulations) World Congress. Apart from an overview paper by the guest editors, 10 papers are peer-reviewed from the workshop from different countries on development of sensory evaluation methods using intelligent techniques for solving uncertainty and imprecision related sensory evaluation issues. The special issue mainly covers three areas as design oriented sensory evaluation, market oriented sensory evaluation, and related techniques for classification and pattern recognition.
