The model of Davydov on the energy levels of odd-mass nuclei with spin 1/2
data. Good o»er-all agreement is found for E2 and M1 electromagnetic transition probabilities and energy level positions. The model is shown to be a particular case of the more general theory of de-Shalit on the coupling between the odd nucleon and the even core.
