Irradiation du chromate de potassium pour la production de Cr51 par recul nucléaire

Research outputpeer-review

Abstract

The author studies the possibilities of producing chromium 51 with high specific activity by making use of the Szilard-Chalmers effect upon potassium chromate. He has particularly tried to define the most favourable irradiation conditions in the BR1 reactor (Mol, Belgium). He has shown that in sucha reactor the quantity of chromium 51 extracted by precipitation increases with the thermal flux, whereas the specific activity increases with the flux level.
