    Abstract

The present Report provides a description of the irradiation performed in the framework of the agreement between SCK•CEN and FZJ "Irradiation in the BR2 reactor (SCK•CEN) of the mirrors and specimens supplied by FZJ for the needs of the ITER cCXRS diagnostic". The following mirrors were irradiated: bulk mirrors made of molybdenum or rhodium; and stain-less still mirrors with thin
coatings: Rh, Mo, and multilayer dielectric. The goal of the test was to assess the nuclear radiation effect on their reflectivity.
The accumulated neutron fluence corresponds to 0.095 dpa in stainless steel SS316, 0.085 dpa in molybdenum and 0.06 dpa in rhodium. A clear change of the reflectivity of all monolithic mirrors was observed. Severe degradation was observed on stainless steel mirrors with multilayer dielectric coating. Smallest changes are observed for stainless steel mirrors with thin Mo coating.
