After a brief general review of the principles of the method, the author lists a variety of possible irradiation techniques. Various treatments are being examined considering the effect of increasing integrated doses on various foods.
The following points are then examined study of undesirable effects appearing in the course of irradiation, possibilities of action against these effects, comestibility, the problem of packing.
Some important problems to be solved are reviewed before describing some important achievements in this field .
