    Abstract

The impact of the complex source configuration in the region of Gent has been calculated with the IFDM-model. The calculated concentrations have been compared with the measured concentrations by means of pollution roses and cumulative distribution frequencies, both based on the half-hourly data. It has also been demonstrated that a sample of 450 half-hours chosen at random gives a sufficient data-set for the simulation of the ambient SO2 situation in the region, and can be used for the evaluation and the application of an air quality model.-from Authors
