Colloidal solutions of radiogold are precious therapeutic agents more and more used for treatment of neoplasic pleuritis and ascitis. However, the value of these solutions depends largely on their preparation after fixed standards and can only be guaranteed bu the use of well established methods of preparation. Clinical and laboratory investigations tend to prove that only the germ method gives equally dispersed and stable colloids. Addition of sodium ascorbate allows nearly total elimination of residual soluble gold due to the slow reduction procedure.
