    Abstract

Data are presented on the waste generation and characteristics. The treatment and conditioning techniques, currently applied at the waste processing plants, are reported. Attention is also drawn to the new processes and managerial improvements, which are being implemented and will become operational in 1982-1983. The importance of sea dumping as a low-level waste disposal strategy for Belgium, among other West-European countries, is underlined. Information is given on the packaging procedures and sea dumping operations.
