MELODI Workshop 2013

The Fifth International MELODI Workshop (www.melodi2013.org) is organized by SCK•CEN, from October 7-10 2013 in Brussels, capital of Europe. The workshop offers a unique opportunity to update your knowledge and discuss low-dose research issues, as well as to be involved in the MELODI Low Dose Research Platform (www.melodi-online.eu). During this particular MELODI 2013 workshop, plenary sessions focus on topics in which significant breakthrough progress has been made over the past few years, whilst 3 thematic sessions running in parallel are devoted to more specific research topics related to radiobiology, dosimetry, epidemiology, radiotherapy, radioecology, emergency planning and other fields of low dose research. The parallel sessions are rounded off by discussions which serve to keep the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) up-to-date and to further implement it into the various low-dose research groups throughout Europe. Each thematic session is summarized and presented during the workshop. This particular workshop is therefore adequately complement the topics addressed during the previous editions. MELODI also aims to recognize talented and promising young scientists (under 35 years old) who have already contributed greatly to low dose research. Therefore, for the second time, a annual MELODI award will be granted.
