Abstract

This report describes the strategy to compile an internally consistent Thermochemical Data Base (TDB) with an aim to be used in phenomenological and safety assessment studies for disposal of radioactive wastes in Belgium. The strategy is specifically designed to guarantee an internal consistency in a process of compiling a TDB using source data from different compilations and published works. This is achieved by producing, using an in-house developed computer software Geochemical Database Processor (GDP), a TDB composed of chemical reaction data from pre-selected standard molal thermodynamic properties of species.
