    Abstract

The results obtained using Molecular Dynamics simulations to study the movement of an edge dislocation in concentrated Fe-Cr alloys with different composition, namely 5, 10 and 15 at.%Cr, are reported. The properties of a ½{110} edge dislocation were studied at zero (i.e. in statics) and finite temperature. The critical configurations of Cr atoms, Cr-dipoles and triples limiting the movement of dislocations were determined and characterized in infinitely-dilute Fe-Cr alloy. The simulations performed at finite temperature were done at different loading rates so as to extract apparent activation energy. This report is part of the revision of Milestone M4.5 of the FP7/GetMat project.
