Abstract
Electron microscopic evidence is presented for the presence of interfacial dislocations between tungsten trioxide single crystal layers of different stoichiometric composition. It is shown that the regular arrangement of dislocations gives rise to a grating which causes a diffraction effect which is easily observable in electron diffraction. The dislocation spacing corresponds with the observed long spacing in the diffraction pattern.
