Abstract
A re-analysis Is presented of Peacock and Johnson's data on
neutron irradiated molybdenum and biobium [Peacock, D.E.. and Johnson, A.A.,
1963, Phil, Mag., 8, 563]. In particular it is shown that stage I I I of these b.c.c. metals. Is caused by a second-order recovery process, just as is stage III of the f.c.c. metals. Hence it is concluded that these results can hardly be explained by single vacancy migration, a possible mechanism being interstial migration to vacancies.
