Nuclear Facilities in OECD Countries: Status and Outlook

    Research outputpeer-review

    Abstract

In 2005 an Expert Group on Needs of Research and Test Facilities in Nuclear Science was set up under the guidance of the Nuclear Science committee of the OECD/NEA. The output of this expert group is a status report on "Research and Test Facilities Required in Nuclear Science and Technology" and an associated database which was named "RTFDB" for " Research and Test Facilities Database". This database has grown over 700 records which have been checked by the facility owners. The public part of the database, excluding contact information, was released to OECD-member countries on 20 July 2007. The expert group has recently been concentrating on the writing of the report, assessing facilities required in the field of Accelerator Driven Systems (ADS), Fuel research, Material research, Neutron application, Nuclear data measurement, Nuclear safety, Nuclear radiochemistry research and Reactor development. The final report is expected for the fall of 2008.
