    Abstract

We com pared the efficiency of blue light photobleaching and high tern perature in fibres irradiated above the MGy level. Results show that few dB can be recovered by both mechanisms. Nevertheless the optical recovery is limited due to the re-activation of defects upon subsequent irradiations.
