Abstract
Visualization is possible in harsh environments using ultrasonic imaging. Therefore characterization of ultrasonic transducers is important. This paper presents the design and practical implementation of a complex impedance measurement device capable of this characterization. The device is suited for measurements in the frequency range below the common range of modern network analyzers. Industrial ultrasonic transducers reside within this range. A theoretical overview is given followed by a practical approach and measurement results.
