A vertical dilatometer based on the displacement measurement by induction pickup was placed in a vacuum container in which it is possible to submit a specimen to quenching in stages and this to measure the transformations as a function of time. In order to measure certain transformations whichdo not result in a change in volume, a resistivity measuring device was attached to the dilatometer. Measurements were carried out on zirconium, uranium and copper alloys.
