N2 - In this report, an overview is given of all microbial procedures used within the µPRACLAY project. A detailed procedure for gas and water sampling from the PRACLAY gallery is described and approved in 2017. However, this procedure is optimized for chemical analysis, which is not completely similar as a sampling procedure from a microbial point of view. Agreements made to allow and integrate microbial sampling and analysis are discussed in this report. In addition, the principles from all microbial analysis procedures are described that are used to characterize the microbial community present in Boom Clay piezometer water from the PRACLAY gallery before the heating of the gallery and at its final temperature. The rationale behind it and important advantages and/or disadvantages of the techniques are discussed.
