Overview of state-of-the-art knowledge for the quantitative assessment of the ageing/deterioration of concrete in nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components: ACES Deliverable &1.1

This deliverable is related to WP 1 (State-of-the-art and possibilities for a quantitative assessment of ageing of concrete SSC in NPPs), more specifically to task 1 (Synthesis of ageing management approaches for reinforced concrete SSCs in NPPs) and task 2 (Towards quantitative criteria for reinforced SSCs – State-of-the-art and gap analysis for different ageing processes). It consists of a critical review on ageing management of reinforced concrete structures in view of long-term operation of nuclear power plants. Furthermore, a detailed overview of ageing processes is given with attention to the influence of other processes, assessment methods, performance indicators & acceptance criteria and model approaches.
