Abstract

Anodic characteristics of La0.8Sr0.2Ni0.2Co0.8O3 electrocatalysts were investigated in alkaline solutions. The catalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction was found to be relatively high. Two possible reaction mechanisms have been proposed on the basis of the Tafel slope of 2RT/3F and the reaction order with respect to OH- of about 1. Long lasting experiments and current interruption were performed in order to demonstrate the applicability in commercial electrolysers using a bipolar configuration.
