    Abstract

    This report describes a method allowing to determine the amount of plutonium and/or americium in fecal samples. After wet ashing of the sample and complete dissolution of the ashes, the resulting solution is transferred to a volumetric flask and the volurne adjusted to one litre. Several fractions of the solution can be analysed by three different analytical procedures;
    1. A rapid determinat ion of Pu and/or Am
    2. A selective determination of Pu
    3. A selective determination of Am.
    All three methods give a recovery mean above 80 %. Whereas the sensitivity of the first procedure is of the order of 2 dpm, the detection level of the selective detarminations is 0.06 dpm.
