Abstract
The methods used for the prediction of the irradiation conditions in BR2 are described, more particularly with reference to their application to the determination of the irradiation characteristics of a cadmium screened sodium loop. In chapters 1 and 2 , the main features of the theoretical and experimental techniques are presented, as well as the interrelation which exists between this work and the information provided by the instrumented devices under irradiation in BR2.
In chapter 3, typical results concerning the irradiation of 18 SNR-type fuel pins in the MOL 78 sodium loop are given, as obtained by calculation and measurements in BRO2 prior to the loading of the loop in BR2. Comparison is made with the results from the thermal balance measurements on the loop under irradiation.
