    Abstract

The 35Cl(n, p) and the 36Cl(n, p) reactions are of great importance for astrophysics. Several silver chloride samples were evaporated on platinum coated aluminium backings. The sample definition has been achieved by combining destructive and non-destructive methods. The isotopic composition of the 36Cl-enriched material was verified. Pulse height spectra of 35Cl(nth, p) and 36Cl(nth, p) are shown. The samples prepared and assayed in this way have proven to fulfil the experimental requirements and have been used to determine the reaction cross sections of 35Cl(nth, p) and 36Cl(nth, p).
